Who is it for?

I would definitely recommend this helmet for someone looking to buy a modular lid, but who can’t afford the top of the range.

Pros and Cons

This Helmet’s aerodynamically designed to cut smoothly through the airflow with the least amount of buffeting or wind noise, lowering neck-stress on the rider. This equates to less muscle-tension after a long ride. An easy-lift opening system means that ‘flipping up’ the chin guard is pure simplicity itself. When in the down position, the flip up visor lock mechanism surpasses all safety requirements, utilizing both hooks and metal pins, meaning it’s exceedingly sturdy and resistant to coming undone in the case of impact. Extra features including the flow-through venting system, comprising both forehead and chin outlet vents, assist keeping you both cool and comfy, whilst the non-scratch, instant release visor works wonders in keeping your view clear.

The helmet also has a retractable sun visor, giving you a much needed, full view anti-glare function. The soft foam comfy inner lining as well as the cheek-pads are all fully removable as well as washable. The V210 is available in four different designs and four vibrant colors, as well as a full range of five sizes, stretching from XS up to XL, fitting both you and your street personality perfectly. There were lots of good features in this modular unit. Venting was good, allowing some airflow and the fit and overall comfort level was great. Helmet aerodynamics are good generally, although the back fin can cause issues if you turn your head. Size ratings were accurate and the sun filter worked a treat, covering the entire vision field.

The lift up visor wiggled a bit when down and appeared a bit weak after latching. At times there was a bit of a whine at speed, as air got through the vents, it might be a bit of a cool ride in wintery weather.

Why you should buy it

It is great value considering the price. Aerodynamics is good and the vents work about right. The sun screen works well, with a great vision coverage, and the comfort and general feel is also very good. I would have to give the Helmet four out of five stars, and that partly due to the great price and the neat, street, cool decals.

Verdict

VCAN V210 Crusader Graphic Modular Helmet is a pretty decent helmet, which looks razor edged and would be street cool. The graphics are cool too, but they aren’t overdone. Visors, vents, and the smooth flow of the flip-up action is good. There are plenty of features, the sizes are accurate, and considering the price a great buy.
